Senior Vice President  Risk Financing and Healthcare Practice Leader

Responsibilities include Healthcare Practice Leader for Virginia and Risk Financing and Risk Management Practice Leader for all offices. Duties include: collaborative strategic business development, the design and negotiation of both conventional insurance solutions and reinsurance placements, drafting insurance policies, captive consulting and optimization for a nine (9) hospital group captive and crafting and implementing strategic risk management and alternative risk financing services to protect or enhance the assets of the client’s organization.

  • Manage the local five (5) person service team and client service operations including insurance placement and claims advise of a $3 million revenue book of healthcare and healthcare related organizations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the team meet all client filing requirements and documentation standards in preperation of the annual and national E&O program.
  • Provide strategic risk financing design and optimization for hospitals, hospital based group captives, hospital based single parent captives, hospital and physician risk retention and risk purchasing groups, physician practices, life sciences, long-term care and assisted living organizations.
  • Managed a hybrid workers’ compensation program consisting of a group captive with a pooled experience layer shared by each member and a conventional large deductible program excess the pooled layer.  Responsibilities included experience modification reviews and audits, loss forecasting, loss analysis, collateral analysis, premium allocations, managing exposure data banks, program marketing, and preparation of annual state of the market workers compensation reports.
  • Established Capital Risk Alternatives PCC, LLC. to provide captive insurance solutions including special purpose vehicles, and financial and analytical consulting services for customers and prospects seeking opportunities for wealth management, estate planning, strategic capital solutions, or formalized insurance structures that may provide certain long term funding and or planning benefits.
  • Provide captive consulting services including pro forma modeling, structural design, writing business plan, licensing, reinsurance or insurance placement, underwriting, policy wording, and vendor oversight and strategic optimization.
  • Developed a consultative enterprise risk management consulting program including the introduction of a client web based online system to allow client the ability to work through the process and RCM&D to track, by SIC code, the results.
  • Managed the roll out and internal and external training of the online RCM&D customer portal for file sharing, project management, carrier coordination and communication.
